Legacy
Migration
Legacy systems are systems that have fallen behind current
technologies but are vital to a business. These systems often
use mainframe and minicomputer architectures that support
proprietary networks and applications. As the networks or
applications get older their problems multiply, components
fail, new components may not exist, support is no longer provided,
and performance is dated. Working with these environments
requires skill and knowledge. Migration to newer technologies
may be painful and expensive.
These networks often have multiplexers, multi-drop lines,
asynchronous components, terminals, data modems, Gandalf systems,
Star master, and terminal servers. Computer components may
include older IBM, Stratus, Tandem, or DEC minicomputers.
These networks often support vital business functions and
are difficult to support. These systems are found in warehouse
environments, POS networks, telecommunications, electric utilities,
and industrial controls.
We have years of experience solving these unique problems.
We can help your organization migrate to newer technologies
that can provide the same functionality.
